What Makes the Perfect Get Well Soon Bouquet?

A thoughtful get well soon bouquet does far more than brighten a bedside table. It carries a message of hope, warmth and genuine care during a difficult time. The perfect arrangement strikes a delicate balance: uplifting without being overwhelming, cheerful yet gentle enough to suit a recovery setting.

Soft, soothing blooms work beautifully here. Think pale yellows, creamy whites and gentle pinks—colours that lift the spirits without demanding too much attention. Fragrant flowers can be lovely, though it pays to consider whether the recipient is in hospital, where strong scents may not be welcome. A compact, elegant arrangement often proves more practical than an extravagant display, fitting comfortably on a nightstand or windowsill and requiring minimal fuss to maintain.

Above all, a get well bouquet should feel personal. Whether you choose their favourite bloom or simply opt for something bright and hopeful, the gesture itself carries the message: you are thinking of them, and you wish them well.

Guide

When Should I Order Get Well Soon Flowers?

Timing matters when sending flowers to someone who is unwell. If you know in advance that a friend or family member is having a procedure or facing a hospital stay, ordering a day or two beforehand allows you to choose the perfect arrangement without rushing. Your bouquet can then arrive precisely when it will bring the most comfort—perhaps the day after surgery or on the morning they return home.

For unexpected situations, same-day and next-day delivery options become invaluable. Life does not always give warning, and learning that someone you care about is unwell often comes as a surprise. In these moments, express delivery ensures your gesture of support reaches them quickly. If the recipient is in hospital, consider timing your delivery for late morning or early afternoon, when ward routines tend to be calmer and staff can help ensure the flowers reach the right bedside.

Colour & Style Ideas for Get Well Soon

Colour has a remarkable effect on mood, and the right palette can genuinely lift someone's spirits. For get well bouquets, soft and cheerful tones tend to work best. Buttery yellows evoke sunshine and optimism, while gentle peaches and corals feel warm and nurturing. Crisp whites paired with touches of green create a fresh, calming effect that suits any setting.

If you know the recipient well, their favourite colour is always a safe and personal choice. Lavender and lilac can feel soothing and restful, whilst brighter pops of pink add energy without being jarring. As for style, a hand-tied posy or a neat, rounded arrangement tends to suit recovery settings beautifully—easy to display, simple to care for, and effortlessly elegant.

Avoid anything too funereal in tone. Dark reds and deep purples, whilst sophisticated, can feel heavy. The aim is to bring light into the room and a smile to the recipient's face.

What to Write in a Get Well Soon Card

Finding the right words can feel surprisingly difficult when someone you care about is unwell. The key is sincerity—a brief, heartfelt message often means more than something lengthy or elaborate.

For a warm, informal tone, something simple works beautifully: *"Sending sunshine your way. Rest up and feel better soon—we miss you."* If you prefer a slightly more formal approach, consider: *"Wishing you a swift recovery and brighter days ahead. You are in our thoughts."* For someone facing a longer recovery, a message of ongoing support can be especially meaningful: *"Take all the time you need. We are here for you, today and always."*

If you would like a little inspiration, our AI-powered card tool offers ready-made messages you can personalise to suit your relationship and the recipient's situation.

Gifts & Value

Flowers & Gifts Bundles for Get Well Soon

A thoughtful add-on can transform a beautiful bouquet into something truly memorable. When choosing extras for a get well gift, consider what might bring genuine comfort during recovery.

Premium chocolates or luxury biscuits offer a small indulgence—particularly welcome when someone is spending long hours resting. A scented candle in a calming fragrance such as lavender or vanilla can help create a peaceful atmosphere at home. For children or those young at heart, a soft toy tucked alongside the blooms adds an extra touch of warmth.

Practical additions also have their place. A stylish vase means the recipient need not search for something to display their flowers in, and it becomes a lasting keepsake once the blooms have faded. Whatever you choose, the combination of fresh flowers and a carefully selected gift shows real thought and care.

Same-Day & Next-Day Get Well Soon Flower Delivery

Sometimes news of illness arrives without warning, and you want to respond immediately. Our same-day delivery service across London means your bouquet can reach the recipient within hours—a genuine lifeline when you have just heard that someone you care about is unwell or in hospital.

If you have a little more time, next-day delivery extends across the whole of the United Kingdom, ensuring your gesture of support arrives promptly wherever the recipient may be. Both options include a photo preview of your bouquet before it leaves our florists, so you can see exactly what will be delivered and feel confident that your flowers will arrive looking precisely as you hoped.

Whether you are responding to an urgent situation or simply want your gift to arrive without delay, our delivery options are designed to take the stress out of sending flowers during difficult times.

How We Handle Sensitive Get Well Soon Orders

We understand that sending flowers during illness requires particular care and sensitivity. Every get well order is handled with discretion and attention to detail, from the moment you place it to the instant it arrives.

Our florists take extra care with presentation, ensuring arrangements look fresh, elegant and appropriate for any setting, including hospital wards. Delivery drivers are briefed to be courteous and considerate, recognising that the recipient may be unwell or that family members may be under stress.

If you have specific instructions—perhaps regarding a hospital ward, visiting hours, or a request to leave flowers with a family member—our team will do everything possible to accommodate your needs. We know these moments matter, and we treat every order with the respect and thoughtfulness it deserves.

FAQ
Can you deliver get well soon flowers the same day?

Yes, same-day delivery is available across much of the UK when you order in time. In London we deliver by hand through our own drivers in three-hour slots from 09:00 right up to midnight. Outside London, same-day delivery is possible if you order before 15:00, and it isn't offered on Sundays.

The slots and earliest date depend on the recipient's postcode, so they appear at checkout once you enter the address. If timing is tight, our team can check live availability for you.

To begin, add a bouquet to your basket and enter the delivery postcode, and we'll show every slot we can offer for that address.

Can you deliver flowers to a hospital or care home?

Yes, we deliver to hospitals and care homes where their policy allows flowers. Many wards welcome them, but some restrict flowers for infection-control or space reasons, so it's worth checking with the ward before you order.

To help us reach the right person, please include the ward or department name, the patient's full name, and a contact number if you have one. Deliveries outside London usually go by Royal Mail Tracked or a trusted courier, so a timed hand-over at a hospital can't be guaranteed.

If you're unsure the hospital accepts flowers, or the patient may be discharged soon, sending to their home address is often the safer choice. Our team is happy to advise.

Where in the UK do you deliver?

We deliver to most areas across the UK, with the exception of Northern Ireland, every day of the year including weekends and bank holidays.

In London we use our own drivers and couriers for hand-to-hand delivery. Elsewhere we send via Royal Mail Tracked and other trusted couriers, and more than nine in ten of these orders arrive on the chosen date, with any delay usually no more than a day.

Coverage and available dates are confirmed by postcode at checkout, so the simplest check is to enter the recipient's address and see what's possible for that location.

How much do get well soon flowers and delivery cost?

Bouquets in this collection generally start from around £25.90 to £29.90, with larger or more elaborate designs costing more. Every price on the site includes VAT.

Delivery depends on the location and how quickly you need it. Standard same-day delivery in London is £8, with an urgent nearest-slot option at £15. Outside London, same-day delivery (ordered before 15:00, not Sundays) and next-day delivery are each £5. Some bouquets also include free shipping, shown on the product.

The exact total, including any delivery charge, is confirmed once you enter the postcode and choose a slot.

Which flowers are best to send to someone who's unwell?

Bright, cheerful blooms tend to work best, with fresh, uplifting colours that lift the mood of a room. Our get well soon collection brings together hand-tied bouquets chosen with recovery in mind, plus compact letterbox flowers that fit through a standard letterbox if no one will be in.

If you'd prefer something gentle rather than bold, a softer seasonal mix or a single-variety bouquet feels calm and reassuring. For a longer-lasting gift, a generous rose bouquet is a popular choice.

Not sure which to pick? Browse the collection above, or tell our team a little about the recipient and we'll suggest a few options.

Should I avoid strongly scented flowers or lilies?

Often, yes, especially for a hospital stay or a home with cats. A strong fragrance isn't always welcome in shared hospital rooms, and lilies can be toxic to cats, so a light, fresh-scented bouquet is usually the safer choice for someone recovering.

If you have a preference, such as a low-fragrance arrangement or no lilies, add a note to your order or tell our team, and we'll do our best to reflect it when our florists make up the bouquet.

Because flowers are seasonal, the occasional stem may be replaced with one of equal value and quality, but we'll keep any preferences you've shared in mind.

Can I add a personal message card, and what should I write?

Yes, you can add a greeting card with your own message during checkout, and we'll write exactly what you type.

For a get well card, keep it warm and simple. Lines such as 'Thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery' or 'Sending love while you get back on your feet' work well, and a personal touch, like a shared memory or 'Can't wait to see you soon', means the most.

If you'd like the flowers to come from you by name, remember to sign the card, since orders arrive without sender details unless you add them. You can edit the message any time before you place the order.

Can I add chocolates, a balloon or another gift?

You can, yes. Alongside the flowers we offer chocolates, hampers, candles, soft toys and balloons, which you can add to your order before checkout.

Popular choices for a get well gift include a box of chocolates from around £8.90 or a small teddy from £14.90, and these arrive together with the bouquet in a single delivery.

Choose your bouquet first, then add any gifts on the product or basket page, and include a card message if you'd like the recipient to know who it's from.

How long will the flowers stay fresh?

With proper care, our flowers typically last up to 12 days, and every order arrives with simple care instructions to help. We also back this with a 7-day freshness guarantee.

A few basics make a real difference: trim the stems, use clean water with the flower food provided, refresh the water every couple of days, and keep the bouquet out of direct sun and away from radiators.

If the flowers don't last as they should, contact us with a photo and your order reference and we'll put it right.

Can I see a photo of the bouquet before it's delivered?

Yes. Before your order leaves us, we send a photo of the actual bouquet our florists have made, so you can see it first.

If something isn't quite right, you can ask us to adjust it before it goes out. Once you're happy, we send it on its way, and you can follow the order in real time and receive a delivery confirmation.

Just make sure your contact details are correct at checkout, as that's how we'll send the approval photo and updates.

Will the recipient know who the flowers are from?

Only if you tell them. All orders are anonymous by default, and we include your name solely when you add it to the card message.

For a get well gift this is usually something people want shared, so do sign off the card if you'd like the recipient to know it's from you. If you'd rather stay anonymous, simply leave your name out and we'll deliver without it.

You can set the message and signature while ordering and adjust them any time before the order is placed.

What happens if no one is home to receive them?

It depends on the delivery method. Letterbox bouquets are designed to fit through a standard letterbox, so they don't need anyone to be in.

For hand-delivered orders where no one is available, the bouquet can be held at our depot for 24 hours, and a redelivery can be arranged for £15. A refund isn't guaranteed in this case, so it's worth checking the recipient will be home.

If you're sending to someone whose plans may change, a letterbox bouquet is a reliable option, or add a contact number so we can coordinate the timing.

What if the flowers arrive damaged or I'm not happy with them?

Let us know as soon as you can and we'll work to put it right. You can raise a claim within 30 days of delivery.

To help us review it quickly, send clear photos of the flowers along with your order reference and delivery details. We aim to review claims within 5 working days.

Depending on what we find, we can arrange a replacement delivery or a refund, with any refund returning to your original payment method usually within 5 to 10 working days. The quickest way to start is to contact us by email or phone with your photos and order number.

How can I pay for my order?

Payment options include PayPal, Klarna, Apple Pay and Google Pay, plus major cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and others) through Shopify Payments. Which cards appear may vary with your region and card issuer. All prices are displayed with VAT included.
