What Makes the Perfect Graduation Bouquet?

A graduation bouquet celebrates years of dedication, late nights, and hard-won achievements. The perfect arrangement captures both the joy of the moment and the promise of what lies ahead.

Bright, uplifting blooms work beautifully for this milestone. Sunflowers symbolise adoration and success, whilst vibrant gerberas convey cheerfulness and new beginnings. Roses in celebratory shades—yellow for friendship, coral for enthusiasm, or classic red for deep admiration—add elegance to any arrangement. For a contemporary twist, consider tropical stems like proteas or anthuriums, which suggest boldness and originality.

The ideal graduation bouquet strikes a balance between exuberance and sophistication. It should feel festive enough for photographs and formal enough to honour the gravity of the achievement. Whether the graduate is finishing sixth form, completing a degree, or earning a postgraduate qualification, flowers remain one of the most meaningful ways to say, "I'm proud of you."

When Should I Order Graduation Flowers?

University and college ceremonies cluster heavily between June and July, with some institutions holding winter graduations in November or December. These peak periods mean florists experience significant demand, so planning ahead ensures you secure exactly the bouquet you envision.

For standard delivery, placing your order three to five days before the ceremony gives ample time for preparation and any last-minute adjustments. If you prefer a specific arrangement or wish to include personalised extras, a week's notice is ideal.

Forgotten the date or caught up in celebration logistics? Same-day delivery within London (order by early afternoon) or next-day service across the UK can rescue even the most last-minute gift-giver. Express options do carry slightly less flexibility in bouquet selection, but quality and freshness remain identical. When you know the ceremony date well in advance, ordering early also lets you choose a precise delivery window, ensuring flowers arrive looking immaculate just as the graduate returns home.

Colour & Style Ideas for Graduation

Graduation calls for colours that radiate optimism and achievement. Consider these palettes to match the celebratory spirit:

A sunshine palette featuring golden yellows, warm oranges, and touches of white creates an instantly uplifting effect. Sunflowers, orange roses, and white lilies work harmoniously together, conveying warmth, success, and bright futures.

For a more refined aesthetic, a contemporary classic combination of deep burgundy, blush pink, and forest green offers sophistication. This palette suits postgraduate ceremonies or recipients with elegant taste, blending maturity with celebration.

If you know the graduate's university colours, incorporating these into the arrangement adds a thoughtful, personalised touch. Navy and gold, crimson and cream, or purple and silver can all be reflected through careful flower and ribbon selection.

Style-wise, hand-tied bouquets remain perennially popular for their portability—perfect for photographs outside the ceremony venue. Alternatively, a letterbox arrangement allows the gift to arrive safely if the graduate is still at university accommodation.

What to Write in a Graduation Card

Finding the right words for a graduation card depends on your relationship with the graduate and the tone you wish to strike.

For warm and personal messages, consider phrases such as: "Watching you grow into the person you've become has been a privilege. Congratulations on this wonderful achievement." This approach suits parents, close family members, or mentors who have witnessed the graduate's journey firsthand.

A more formal tone works well for professional contacts, distant relatives, or colleagues' children: "Congratulations on your graduation. Your dedication and hard work have led to this well-deserved success. Wishing you every achievement in your future endeavours."

For friends or siblings, something lighter and more playful often resonates: "You actually did it! Incredibly proud of you. Now the real adventure begins."

If words fail you, our AI-powered card creator offers tailored message suggestions based on your relationship, the graduate's field of study, and the sentiment you wish to express. Simply select a starting point, and the tool refines the wording until it feels genuinely yours.

Gifts & Value

Flowers & Gifts Bundles for Graduation

Pairing a bouquet with a complementary gift elevates your gesture from lovely to truly memorable.

Premium chocolates make an indulgent addition—artisan truffles or a beautifully boxed selection reward the graduate after months of revision and exams. For those who appreciate a celebratory toast, a bottle of champagne or quality prosecco transforms the moment into an occasion.

Practical yet thoughtful options include scented candles (perfect for a new flat or room), elegant notebooks for the next chapter of note-taking, or a quality vase that ensures the flowers take pride of place. For younger graduates or those with a playful side, a small plush toy tucked into the arrangement adds charm and personality.

Consider the graduate's next steps: someone entering the professional world might appreciate a sophisticated gift, whilst a gap-year adventurer might prefer something more relaxed. Matching the bundle to their personality demonstrates genuine care and attention beyond the blooms themselves.

Same-Day & Next-Day Graduation Flower Delivery

Graduation day itself often unfolds in a whirlwind of ceremonies, photographs, and family gatherings. Ensuring flowers arrive at precisely the right moment requires reliable, flexible delivery.

Within London, same-day delivery is available for orders placed before early afternoon—ideal if the ceremony slipped your mind or plans changed unexpectedly. Our couriers work within specific time slots, so you can arrange for flowers to greet the graduate as they return home, still wearing their cap and gown.

How We Handle Sensitive Graduation Orders

Not every graduation story follows a straightforward path. Some graduates have overcome significant personal challenges, health difficulties, or loss along the way. Others may be celebrating a posthumous degree on behalf of a loved one.

We approach these orders with particular care and discretion. When you indicate special circumstances during checkout—or simply mention them to our support team—we ensure the bouquet, card, and delivery experience reflect the sensitivity of the situation. Neutral, elegant wrapping replaces overtly exuberant presentation where appropriate, and delivery personnel are briefed to be especially considerate.

For families collecting a degree on behalf of someone who has passed, we offer muted, dignified arrangements that honour both the achievement and the memory. Timing is handled with precision, and any card messages are reviewed to ensure they strike an appropriate tone.

Our commitment is simple: every graduation deserves recognition, and every recipient deserves a gesture that feels right for their unique circumstances.

FAQ
Can you deliver graduation flowers on a specific date, such as the graduation day?

Yes — you choose the exact delivery date at checkout, and we deliver 365 days a year, including weekends and bank holidays. For a fixed occasion like a graduation, we'd suggest ordering a little ahead and picking the day you need, so the bouquet arrives in good time.

In London you can select a same-day three-hour slot; outside London we offer next-day delivery, or same-day when you order before 15:00 (not on Sundays). The options for a given address appear once you enter the recipient's postcode.

Before dispatch we send a photo of the finished bouquet, and you can follow the order in real time right up to delivery.

Do you offer same-day delivery for graduation flowers?

Yes, depending on the delivery area and when you order. In London, our own drivers and couriers deliver the same day in three-hour slots between 09:00 and midnight. Outside London, same-day delivery is available when you order before 15:00 and isn't offered on Sundays.

The final same-day availability for an address is always confirmed at checkout, based on the recipient's postcode. If a same-day slot isn't possible, we offer next-day delivery instead.

Charges depend on speed and location and are shown before you pay. If you need help choosing the fastest option, our team is available 24/7 by phone or WhatsApp.

How much do graduation flowers cost?

Most bouquets in our range start at around £25.90, with signature designs reaching roughly £60.90; custom rose arrangements go higher, up to about £69.90 for 100 stems. There's also a selection under £30 if you'd prefer something more modest.

The final price depends on the bouquet, its size and any extras, such as a card, chocolates or balloons. Delivery may be free on many designs or charged depending on speed and location.

All prices include VAT, and the full total — flowers, gifts and any delivery fee — is shown at checkout before payment.

How much is delivery, and is it ever free?

Delivery cost depends on location, speed and method, and many bouquets are shown with free shipping. The exact charge appears at checkout once you enter the postcode.

In London, standard same-day delivery starts from £8, while urgent delivery to the next available slot is £15. Outside London, both same-day (ordered before 15:00, excluding Sundays) and next-day delivery are £5.

If you order on a flower subscription, delivery is always included at no extra cost. Letterbox bouquets are sent by post and fit through a standard letterbox.

Do you deliver graduation flowers across the UK?

We deliver to most areas across the UK; the only place we don't currently cover is Northern Ireland.

Delivery options are set automatically by the recipient's postcode at checkout. In London we use our own drivers for hand-to-hand delivery, while elsewhere we rely on Royal Mail Tracked and other trusted UK couriers. For UK-wide orders outside London, more than 90% arrive on the chosen date, with any delay usually no more than a day.

To check a specific address, just enter the postcode at checkout and the suitable methods and dates will appear straight away.

Can you deliver to a university, halls of residence or a ceremony venue?

We can — we deliver to the address you provide, with the available options confirmed by postcode at checkout. For places with restricted access, such as halls of residence or campus buildings, please add the full address and a contact number for the recipient so our courier or Royal Mail can reach them.

For a busy ceremony venue, we'd often suggest delivering to a home or accommodation address instead, as crowds and limited access can make a personal handover difficult.

If you're unsure which address works best, message us before ordering and we'll help you plan it.

Which flowers make the best graduation gift?

Bright, celebratory bouquets tend to suit a graduation best — bold colours and a generous, hand-tied finish that marks the achievement. Roses are always popular, and you can build a custom rose bouquet by choosing the number of stems, the colour and the arrangement size.

Our signature designs are made by our florists and arrive ready to place in a vase. If you'd prefer something the graduate can receive even when they're out, a letterbox bouquet fits through a standard letterbox.

If you'd like a recommendation for a particular style or budget, our team is happy to suggest something.

Can I add a card, chocolates or balloons to the bouquet?

You can add all of these at checkout: a personalised greeting card with your own message, plus gifts such as chocolates, balloons, candles, soft toys or a hamper.

To give a sense of pricing, a Milk Tray box is £8.90, champagne truffles £11.90, a teddy bear £14.90, heart-shaped balloons £20.90 and magic candles £4.90. Extras are added to your bouquet total.

By default every order is anonymous, so the graduate only knows who it's from if you include your name in the card message — worth remembering if you want them to know who's celebrating with them.

How long will the flowers last, and what if there's a problem with them?

With proper care, our flowers typically last up to 12 days, and we include care instructions with every order. We also back them with a 7-day freshness guarantee.

If anything isn't right, contact us by email or phone within 30 days of delivery, share clear photos and your order reference, and we'll review the claim within five business days. Depending on the case, we can arrange a replacement, a full or partial refund, or a refund of the delivery charge.

Our bouquets are hand-tied by our own florists, and we send a photo before dispatch so you can check the flowers first.

Can I order from abroad for delivery in the UK?

You can order from anywhere in the world for delivery to a recipient in the UK — our website and payment system are set up for international orders.

Choose the bouquet, enter the UK delivery address and postcode, select the date, and pay using PayPal, Klarna, Apple Pay and Google Pay, plus major cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and others) through Shopify Payments. The cards available can differ by region and by card issuer. All prices include VAT and are shown in pounds sterling.

You'll receive a photo of the bouquet before dispatch and can track the order through to delivery, which helps when you're arranging a surprise from overseas.

Will I see the bouquet before it's delivered?

We send you a photo of the actual bouquet before dispatch, so you can see exactly what our florists have prepared.

If you'd like a change, let us know and we'll adjust it where we can before it goes out. The photographs on the site reflect real sizes, given in centimetres, and usually show the Medium size by default.

Once it's on its way, you can track the order in real time and receive a delivery confirmation. To request changes after approval, contact us via WhatsApp, phone or email.

What happens if the recipient isn't home?

If a hand-to-hand delivery can't be completed because the recipient is out, the bouquet can be held at our depot for 24 hours, and redelivery is available for £15.

To reduce the risk of a missed delivery — easy to happen on a busy graduation day — we'd suggest adding a contact number for the recipient and choosing an address where someone is likely to be in, or a slot that fits their plans.

With letterbox bouquets this isn't a concern, as they're made to fit through a standard letterbox. If plans change, update the delivery details or message our 24/7 support and we'll do what we can.
