How to Choose Flowers for Your Bride

Selecting flowers for a bride demands a thoughtful approach that balances personal taste, wedding aesthetics, and the emotions you wish to convey. Begin by considering the colour palette of the celebration—soft ivories, blush pinks, and classic whites remain timeless choices, yet bolder hues such as deep burgundy or dusty blue can complement a contemporary theme beautifully. Reflect on the bride's personality: does she favour understated elegance or statement-making arrangements? The formality of the occasion matters too; an intimate registry office ceremony calls for a refined hand-tied posy, whereas a grand church wedding may suit a cascading bouquet or an opulent rose display. When in doubt, lean towards flowers she has admired before or blooms that carry sentimental significance—perhaps the variety featured at her engagement dinner or a species native to a place she loves.

Best Occasions to Surprise Your Bride with Flowers

A bride's journey offers countless moments worth marking with a heartfelt bouquet. The morning of the wedding itself is an obvious highlight, yet gifting flowers on the eve of the big day can ease pre-ceremony nerves and set a romantic tone. Consider surprising her at the final dress fitting, after the hen party, or the morning you depart for your honeymoon. Anniversaries of the engagement, the proposal, or the first meeting are ideal for unexpected deliveries that rekindle the excitement of those milestones. Even a simple "just because" gesture—arriving at her door on an ordinary Tuesday—demonstrates enduring affection. For moments of stress or doubt, a calming arrangement paired with a reassuring note reminds her she is cherished and supported.

Bride-Friendly Colours and Styles

Brides tend to gravitate towards palettes that evoke romance and purity. Ivory, champagne, and soft peach tones convey classic sophistication, while pastel lavenders and powder blues introduce a gentle contemporary twist. For modern brides drawn to minimalism, monochromatic whites with varied textures—garden roses, ranunculus, and lisianthus—create visual interest without overwhelming. Those with bolder tastes might appreciate jewel tones: rich magentas, burnt oranges, or terracotta shades that harmonise with autumnal or bohemian wedding themes. Style-wise, loosely gathered, garden-style bouquets feel effortlessly elegant, whereas structured, dome-shaped arrangements suit formal settings. Trailing greenery adds movement, and a touch of foliage such as eucalyptus or olive branch lends an organic, unstructured charm that photographs beautifully.

What to Write in a Card for Your Bride

The words accompanying your flowers can be as meaningful as the blooms themselves. For a heartfelt, romantic message, try: "Every petal reminds me of one of a thousand reasons I cannot wait to marry you." A warm, supportive note might read: "You have made every moment of this journey unforgettable—today and always, I am yours." If understated sincerity suits you both better, consider: "Thinking of you. See you at the altar." Should you wish to add a creative flourish, our AI-assisted card feature can help craft a bespoke message tailored to your sentiments, ensuring your words feel personal even when inspiration runs short.

Top-Picked Bouquets for Brides

Certain arrangements consistently capture the hearts of those shopping for brides. Soft, blush-toned compositions featuring peonies or garden roses rank among the most requested, prized for their romantic, full-bodied appearance. Classic white rose bouquets remain perennial favourites, offering timeless elegance suited to any wedding style. For couples seeking something distinctive, mixed seasonal blooms—think ranunculus, anemones, and astilbe—provide texture and depth. Our letterbox-friendly options also prove popular for pre-wedding surprises, arriving discreetly and in pristine condition. Feedback from customers highlights that bouquets including a handwritten note and photo preview before dispatch feel especially thoughtful, transforming a simple gift into a cherished keepsake.

Flowers Etiquette: Do's and Don'ts for Brides

Navigating floral etiquette ensures your gesture lands perfectly. Do choose stems that complement, rather than compete with, the bridal bouquet—avoid presenting an arrangement more elaborate than the one she will carry down the aisle. Do consider fragrance; heavily scented lilies, while beautiful, may overwhelm in a confined dressing room. Don't default to red roses unless you are certain of her preference; the classic Valentine's association can feel misplaced amid a pastel wedding scheme. Do time deliveries thoughtfully—early morning arrivals allow the bride to enjoy the blooms without adding to last-minute chaos. Finally, do include care instructions if you are sending flowers the day before, so they remain fresh throughout the celebrations.

FAQ
What flowers should I choose for a bride?

We've brought together bouquets that suit a bride here, from soft romantic blends to classic roses in white, blush and pink. Each is hand-tied by our florists and arrives ready to display.

If you're marking an engagement, sending flowers for the wedding morning, or treating the bride to something special, lighter palettes and roses tend to suit the occasion. For a more personal touch, you can build a rose bouquet by colour, stem count and size.

Tell us the occasion and any colour preference, and we'll help you choose — by phone, WhatsApp or in the app, around the clock.

Can I choose the flower colours or order custom roses?

Yes — alongside our ready-made designs, you can build a custom rose bouquet by choosing the colour, the number of stems and the presentation size.

Roses come in red, white, pink, hot pink, a multi-colour mix, or a white-and-red mix. Stem counts range from 20 up to 100, with a Compact, Classic or Grand finish, and prices currently start from around £29.90 for 20 stems.

For ready-made designs the colours follow each bouquet. If you'd like a particular palette for the bride, message us before ordering and we'll let you know what we can do.

How much do flowers for a bride cost?

Prices in this collection currently start from around £25.90, rising to roughly £60.90 for some of our signature designs. Custom rose bouquets go up to about £69.90 for 100 stems.

The final price depends on the bouquet and size you choose, any add-ons such as a card or chocolates, and the delivery option for the recipient's postcode. All prices on our site include VAT.

You'll see the full total, including any delivery fee, at checkout, so you can confirm everything before you pay.

Can you deliver on the wedding day at a chosen time?

You choose the delivery date when you place the order, and in London you can also select a three-hour time slot: 09:00–12:00, 12:00–15:00, 15:00–18:00, 18:00–21:00 or 21:00–00:00.

Outside London we deliver through Royal Mail Tracked and other trusted couriers. More than 90% of these orders arrive on the chosen date, though we can't promise a specific hour, and a delay of up to a day is possible.

For a time-sensitive wedding delivery, we'd recommend ordering ahead. Where the exact hour matters, a London slot or a quick word with our team is the safest route.

Can you deliver to a wedding venue or hotel?

We deliver to most UK addresses, including hotels and wedding venues — enter the recipient's full address and postcode at checkout and we'll show the available options.

For a venue or hotel, it helps to share the bride's name, the room or reception details and a contact number, so the handover goes smoothly.

We deliver across most of the UK every day of the year, though we don't currently cover Northern Ireland. The recipient's postcode determines the exact delivery choices you'll see.

Do you offer same-day flower delivery?

Same-day delivery is available in many areas. In London our own drivers deliver hand-to-hand on the same day, with an urgent option for the nearest slot.

Outside London, same-day applies to orders placed before 15:00 and isn't available on Sundays; the final same-day availability always shows at checkout for the recipient's postcode.

London same-day starts from £8 (the urgent nearest slot is £15), and same-day or next-day outside London is currently £5. For a wedding, we'd still suggest booking ahead to secure your preferred date and slot.

Will I see a photo of the bouquet before it's delivered?

Yes. Before we send the order, we photograph the finished bouquet so you can check it.

If anything isn't right — the colours or the overall look — you can ask us to adjust it before it leaves us. That's especially reassuring when the flowers are for a bride and you want them to look their best.

Approvals and any changes go through our support team on WhatsApp, phone or in the app, so it only takes a moment.

How long will the flowers stay fresh?

With proper care, our flowers typically stay fresh for up to 12 days, and every order includes care instructions to help them last.

We back this with a 7-day freshness guarantee: if the flowers don't last seven days, we'll put it right. Keeping them in clean, fresh water and away from direct heat or sunlight makes a real difference.

Can I add a card and a gift, and will the flowers be anonymous?

You can add a greeting card with your own message, along with extras such as chocolates, a hamper, candles, balloons or a soft toy, so the gift feels complete.

By default every order is anonymous — we include the sender's name only if you write it in the card message. So if you'd like the bride to know the flowers are from you, add your name to the card.

Add-ons are chosen alongside the bouquet, with prices starting from a few pounds, for example chocolates from £8.90.

Do you offer bridal bouquets or full wedding flowers?

Our bouquets are hand-tied gift arrangements delivered ready to display, rather than a full wedding-floristry service such as buttonholes or table arrangements.

What we can do is tailor a rose bouquet by colour, stem count and size, or prepare a ready-made design from this collection, and deliver it to the home or venue on your chosen date.

If you have a particular look in mind for the bride, message us before ordering by phone, WhatsApp or email, and we'll tell you what's achievable from our current range.

Can I order from abroad for delivery to a bride in the UK?

You can place an order from anywhere in the world for delivery to a UK address, and our checkout and payment system support international orders.

You'll pay in pounds with options including PayPal, Klarna, Apple Pay and Google Pay, plus major cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and others) through Shopify Payments, all secured with 3D Secure. Which cards appear may vary with your region and card issuer. All prices are displayed with VAT included. Just enter the bride's UK address and we'll arrange delivery on your chosen date.

If you're abroad and timing is tight because of the time difference, our team is available day or night on WhatsApp, phone or email to confirm the details.

What happens if the bride isn't there to receive the flowers?

If the bride or recipient isn't there to receive the order, the flowers can be held at our depot for up to 24 hours.

A redelivery can then be arranged for £15, and we'll ask you to confirm a time when she'll be able to receive them. As flowers are perishable, a refund isn't guaranteed in this situation.

To avoid a missed delivery on a busy wedding day, share a contact number and clear venue or address details, and pick a slot when someone can take the flowers in.

What if I'm not happy with the flowers or they arrive damaged?

Yes — if you're not happy, you have clear options. Before dispatch, the approval photo is your chance to request changes; after delivery, contact us within 30 days.

We'll ask for clear photos, your order reference and the delivery details, then review the claim within five business days. Depending on the case, we may arrange a replacement, a full or partial refund, or a refund of the delivery charge.

You can also cancel within 30 minutes of paying for a full refund, as after that we may already have begun making the bouquet.
